One of the main fitness goals people have these days is to get a nice, lean set of abs to show off at the pool or the beach, but most people don’t know how.  If you want to know how to get 6 pack abs, read on to find the three most important pieces of the puzzle.

 

 

By far the most important part of how to get 6 pack abs is your diet.  You can do all the crunches you want, but without eating right, you’ll never get rid of that fat on your stomach.  Everyone has a set of six pack abs, it’s just that most people have way too much fat on their bodies for them to show through.  Furthermore, you CANNOT selectively reduce the fat on your stomach but doing tons of abs work.  You have to gradually lose fat all over your body.

 

The most important nutritional aspects of how to get 6 pack abs are eating lots of protein, getting complex carbohydrates at the right times, and eating a moderate amount of healthy fat.  You should also be eating five to six times a day, with each meal focusing on a combination of lean protein and EITHER fat or carbs.  Avoiding mixing fats and carbs will help you keep the overall calorie content of your meals to a happy medium.

 

 

It’s a common misconception amongst both bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts that if you do heavy abs work, your midsection will get big and blocky.  These people may know a lot about how to get 6 pack abs, but this is ridiculous!    Building muscle is a long, arduous process, and you’re not just going to one day realize your abs are too big and blocky.

 

If anything, putting a little muscle on your midsection will allow your six pack to show through a little better, even if you’ve still got some fat on there.  To build muscle on your abs, do what you would do with any muscle and train them heavy!  When you do abs work, use enough weight that you can only get 10-15 reps.

 

 

Hours of jogging may be nice for your cardiovascular health, but it’s probably not going to do a whole lot for those who want to know how to get 6 pack abs.  Long, moderately difficult cardio will burn up your muscle tissue faster than anything, and while it will keep your weight down, it is not conducive to a lean physique.

 

To burn fat and not muscle tissue, you can do low-intensity cardio for 30-45 minutes in the morning, before you’ve eaten anything.  This will cause your body to burn mainly fat.  You can also do 15-20 minutes of interval training, in which you sprint for 20-30 seconds and take one or two minutes rest in between to walk at a slow pace.  This will not burn much fat while you do it, but it will stoke your metabolism for the rest of the day.

Tips on Turning 4 Pack Abs Into 6 Pack Abs

Turning 4 pack abs into 6 pack abs can be difficult and frustrating.  Especially when you’re not sure how to do it.  So, what I’m going to do is share with you some tips on turning 4 pack abs into 6 pack abs.  That way, you will be able to have some washboard abs that people will notice.

The tips on turning a 4 pack into a 6 pack are:

1.  Ab workouts.  The first way to get 6 pack abs is to train them.  There are some exercises that will help you get them faster.  Some of the exercises that you can do to get abs include leg lifts, knee raises, full crunches, cable crunches, and incline situps.

Doing these exercises will help work your upper and lower abs, which will help you get a 6 pack.

2.  Eating healthy and frequently.  Another tip on turning 4 pack abs into 6 pack abs is to eat healthy and frequently.  Eating certain foods will help you burn belly fat, which will help you get a 6 pack.  Some foods to eat are lean meats and fish, nuts, red apples, dark green veggies, whole wheat breads, yogurt, and cottage.

Also, make sure you drink at least 8 cups of water and one cup of green tea every day.

3.  Cardio exercises.  Doing cardio exercises will also help you burn fat off your belly.  This will help turn your 4 pack into a 6 pack.  Some cardio exercises you should do include participating in a fitness class, jogging, swimming, and riding your bike.

These are some tips on turning 4 pack abs into 6 pack abs.  If you are serious about getting a 6 pack, be sure to use the tips above.  Also, make sure you stay consistent with your efforts.  It’ll pay off big time.  Especially when people start to take notice of your abs.
